OUR FACILITY

The Somerset Eye Medical and Surgical Centre was the vision of a group of like-minded ophthalmologists, who wished to create a dedicated eye care center of excellence.

Aware of the ever increasing cost barrier to accessing quality medical care for patients, the impact of the depreciating rand on solo practitioners ability to maintain technology and standards at the cutting edge, and the need to train and retain superior nursing staff, this group of ophthalmologists pooled resources and skills to create a surgical and diagnostic centre comparable with the best internationally.

The Somerset Eye strives to provide comprehensive and specialized eye care for all ophthalmic problems at the highest quality, comparable to international standards, for all our South African patients. A Centre in which patients are assured of getting the best possible care, and with which the medical and nursing staff are proud to be associated.

Accessible, affordable, high quality care …the ambition of the Somerset Eye!
